On November we officially welcomed Polichem Srl into our family, marking a significant milestone in our journey of innovation and sustainability.
Polichem, founded in 1989 by Dr. Franco Lo Giudice, has been a pioneer in developing advanced additives for engineering thermoplastic polymers. Their portfolio includes nucleating and clarifying agents, mould release agents, impact modifiers, chain extenders for PA, I.V. enhancers for PET, dispersing molecules, and high-performance stabilizers. With decades of expertise, Dr. Lo Giudice, an “old-school” chemist with deep knowledge of polyamides and polyesters, has built a legacy of excellence that now becomes part of Greenchemicals.
This merger is more than just a business move—it combines innovation and experience. Polichem’s production site, analytical facilities, and application lab in Garlasco, near Milan, are now part of Greenchemicals, complementing our headquarters in Desio.
What does this mean for our customers? Alongside our renowned low-environmental-impact flame retardants and additives, we’re expanding our offerings with solutions designed to enhance the quality of mechanically recycled polymers.
“We consider this acquisition highly strategic and representing a crucial synergy to consolidate our role in the formulation of plastic additives internationally – says Dr. Lorenzi – We will widen our offer in terms of customized products for styrenics, polyolefins and engineering thermoplastic polymers, focusing more and more on sustainability of plastics. All Polichem products can be considered sustainable, since they can lower processing temperatures and allow for higher production rate. The overall performance improves, while higher percentage of recycled products can be used”.
Together, we’re shaping a future where innovation meets sustainability, driving progress in the plastics industry.
Stay tuned for more updates as we embark on this exciting chapter!
